When a certain company in Dubai would like to launch a project, a team of 6 to 8 members are usually formed. They are first screened using several qualification schemes. This team will now render information regarding the products and services that would sponsor them. The facilitator will require the market research focus group to answer his questions and create a dialogue with the team. Sometimes, there are observers when this dialogue takes place or the dialogue is video and audio recorded. Commonly, the dialogue lasts for an hour.

When selecting the members of the team, the qualifications are usually related to demographics, usage and the participant’s behavior with respect to the product tested. If the same person has already been put on the same product or research project, usually, they are no longer chosen to take part in another same project.

Also, if the participant has friends or an immediate family member in the company where the product or service is being tested, he will be out of the list. But then, these disputes rely on the fact that regular market research groups do not take into account the culture of a specific target group to start with. By using market research groups with considerations to gender, race, ethnicity and social standing, those disputes are steered away.

By employing a group of potential customers is a nice idea for the producers since they will receive the actual feedbacks from consumers themselves. That group may also benefit from the product or service use and at the same time get paid with cash or receive gifts.
